| 2/19/09 | There is going to be (an extremely important!!) road service meeting for our Road Service: Goldstream Moose Creek RSA on Fri Feb 27 from 7-9pm at the Ken Kunkel Center. We will be discussing the culvert at Moose Creek that desperately needs to be replaced and the meetings the road service commissioners have had and continue to have with the Borough Mayor and other Borough officials about this....
There is ONLY one way in and one way out of Moose Mtn Road, and the culvert is collasping in front of our eyes!!! We really need resident's help!!

| 12/14/07 |   A group is forming that wants to collaboratively install a large (25kW) solar
power system here in Fairbanks. The system would be owned by the individuals who participate in its construction. It will be tied into the
grid via the SNAP program (GVEA) and the amount of money produced as green
energy will be split up proportionally to the shares.
If you are interested, please contact uncommon_ground@yahoo.com
and have a look at their flyer.
You may also contact Franziska fnfk@uaf.edu and Pete
347-4479 who are the initial coordinators of the solar initiative. |

| 11/10/07 | Goldstream Moose Creek Road Service Area meeting, 10 am at the Ken Kunkel Community Center. The primary agenda item was how to fund the $32,000 needed for our portion of the 90/10 matching grant we have received to pay for the replacement of the collapsing Moose Mountain Road culvert and slight reroute of the T at the bottom of the mountain. A tax cap increase is one possibility.

Lynn has been the catalyst for benefits just like this one to help people in the community. I am happy to announce that just under $15 thousand was raised to help Lynn with her hospital bills. Thank you very much for coming out. |

A former State Trooper passed on this winter driving tip:
When going downhill, putting an automatic transmission into a lower gear
(not too low, but lower than "drive") or keeping a stick shift in a
lower gear, can slow the vehicle down without losing traction or
steering capability.
People have a tendency to use their brakes in icy downhill conditions.
This tends to cause the vehicle's tires to break traction, slide, and
ultimately lose steering control. Using the transmission to slow the
vehicle down is much more productive than using the brakes.

| 10/27/03 | This table
from the D.O.T. concerns the number of vehicles that used Spinach CK Rd in May 2003. It's interesting
to note that vechicle use on Spinach CK Rd in May was below Moose Mtn Rd road use in October. |
| 10/27/03 | This very informative table
from the D.O.T. concerns the number of vehicles that used
Moose Mtn. Rd. from Sept 27 through Oct. 9, 2003. Each record is one trip over the counter on the road,
so a trip out to town and back would count as 2 records.
We'll talk more about it at the next road service
meeting on 11/6/03. Amazing how many vehicles use this road!! |

All the brush cutting is complete for this year. Now the commissioners are concentrating
on adding gravel to that pad by the community board so Clint Meyer can build some mailboxes for us,
a MUCH safer place to be, for both residents AND the postal carrier!! The current commissioners are
waiting to get approval to appoint 2 more commissioners. They are aiming for 3 commissioners from
Spinach Creek and 3 from Moose Mtn. |
| 9/3/03 |
The community board was finished today. Clint Meyer and his father Marvin
